i’ve never met robert lazo personally, but he strikes me as a mystic figure, living in a forest very much of his own making (if not indeed a real, bark and branch, forest), where the rustling of leaves is replaced by tape hiss, and the sounds of woodland creatures are replaced by the echoes of human activity. “un puerto, un arbol” feels like his compass – a broken, old guide that takes you the long path through the detours and details of urban wildlife.
